My Approach

My approach to psychotherapy focuses on how you experience and relate to your world—how you interpret situations, respond to challenges, and understand yourself within the context of your life.

What Sessions Look Like
In our work together, we will explore both the real limitations you face and the ways in which certain patterns or perceptions may be unnecessarily restricting your sense of possibility. The goal is to develop a clearer understanding of what is within your control and how you might begin to approach your life differently.

Our work will be collaborative and nonjudgmental. Through conversation, we will develop a deeper understanding of your patterns, while also recognizing the strengths and resources you already have. At the same time, this work is not only about insight. My approach is also active and practical. When helpful, we may incorporate exercises or new ways of approaching situations, both during sessions and between sessions, so that change continues beyond the therapy hour.

I believe that psychological distress often emerges when there is a disconnect between how we see ourselves, what we believe is possible, and how we understand the obstacles in front of us. Therapy provides a space to examine both the internal and external factors contributing to that disconnect.

Goals
The aim is to develop a more grounded and flexible way of living—one that allows you to move toward a life that feels more aligned with who you are. Our goal is to develop new skills and new perspectives to deal with the world
around us.

Who I Work With
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, introspective individuals who are interested not only in relief, but in gaining a deeper understanding of themselves and their lives.

I work with adults in individual or relationship counseling who:
• feel like they have not been heard
• have felt judged — or fear being judged — for being different
• are looking for deeper meaning
• have not felt challenged by other therapists
